Operation Clean Community was created by a Disabled Army Veteran who was born and raised in the Sacramento region. After service, and after commuting through the city every day, it was becoming apparent that the mess left behind by humans was growing and becoming worse, with cleanup efforts struggling to keep pace. Thus, the inspiration for OCC.

While the primary mission of OCC is cleaning up the community, another goal of the organization is to hire veterans who have struggled with addiction and are in recovery trying to build better lives for themselves and the ones they love. We believe that giving them the opportunity to serve again, while paying them fair, livable wages will keep their path and the region moving in the right direction.
